Application Instructions.
- All applications will be completed by typewriter or PC. And
submitted by May 1, 2026. - Applicants must be a child/stepchild or grandchild/step grandchild of a Veteran of Military service, who is a member So. Cherokee Cty Post 316 The American Legion Inc.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior.
- Academic requirements as follows: accumulated grade point average (GPA), class ranking, standardized test scores (SAT/ACT). Only official records must be supplied.
- Applicant must have participated in school and community activities.
- Applicant must have a transcript of grades. Transcript will be an official document from the High School in a sealed envelope.
- Up to 1 - $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded by the post.
- The awarded scholarship/s will be paid directly to the college/university chosen by the recipient/s. The student ID # will be required in order for the school to apply the scholarship amount directly to the student’s account .
- Applicant will have endorsements from their High School Principal and Post.
- Attach all supporting documents from the school and send to:
